The D'Angelico stamp was correctly placed on the inside of the back along with the serial number. Going to D'Angelico's ledger book confirmed it was an A-1. It was determined that Style A-1, in the space given within the missing pearl block, must have looked similiar, if not exactly like what is pictured here now. I cut the pearl and fit in the blank recesses without disturbing the surrounding wood and finish. Ron Chacey did the engraving.
